3. Viziteaza mareata Hagia Sophia

Aceasta cladire este considerata una dintre cele mai frumoase piese arhitecturale din intreaga lume. Timp de aproximativ 900 de ani a servit drept biserica. Apoi, ea a fost transformata in moschee, iar in 1935 a devenit muzeu.

It is located in the Fatih district, in the Sultanahmet mahalle. Dedicated to the Sophia (the wisdom of God), from 537 to 1453 the building was an Orthodox cathedral and seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, except for a brief period between 1204 and 1261, when it was converted by the Crusaders into a catholic rite cathedral Roman under the Latin Empire of Constantinople. It then became an Ottoman mosque on 29 May 1453 and remained so until 1931. It was then deconsecrated and on 1 February 1935 it became a museum. Famous Turkish Hammam 💜 Visiting the traditional baths of the ancient royal era and having the experience of that lavish bath yourself is one of top things one plan to do when in Istanbul, Turkey. I am no less to miss this opportunity to go and relax there after walking so much and doing the touristy stuff around. It was funnier than I had expected to let other women prepare my bath 🛁 wash me 🙈 and treat me like your highness 👸 This place is so beautiful and one the best and most expensive one 🤑 But, I thought I am not going to do this again (maybe) so why not count it as a lifetime experience and live the surrealism for a moment💜 From their website: Hagia Sophia Hurrem Sultan Bath that preserved its unique structure for 450 years opened a new era in Turkish Bath architecture and has the title of being the first structure where women and men sections are on the same axis. Suleyman the Magnificent had Mimar Sinan build the Turkish Bath in 1556 year. Bath is showing differences from classical period Ottoman bath architecture with its double bath shape and 75m. length. . . PS Photography is not allowed inside but I clicked few when there was no one around (other customers). . . . . . . . #turkishhammam #ayasofyahamami #traditionalhammam #istanbul #istanbulstories #girltraveler #womenwhoexplore #gowonder #historicmonuments #beautifulinteriors #istanbulturkey #ancient #traveljournaling #traveltheglobe #eatpraylovetravel #travelbook #blessedtoseetheworld #travelstories #womenwhotravel #beautifularchitecture #interiors #whereakiratravels

In limba araba, „hamam” inseamna „a se incalzi”, asa ca intra in camera acoperita cu marmura si bucura-te de sauna, inainte de a face o sedinta de scrubbing si un masaj relaxant.

In trecut, turcii considerau hammam-urile locuri destinate purificarii, atat fizice, cat mai ales spirituale. Ei obisnuiau sa frecventeze aceste locuri dupa rugaciune. De aceea, multe hammam-uri se afla in apropierea moscheelor.
